EDUCATION FOR EMPOWERMENT

IFWEA’s International General Conference is held every four years. The 24th General Conference will meet in Cape Town, South Africa, to review and renew IFWEA’s strategic objectives and elect the leadership for the next four years.  It provides an opportunity for IFWEA worker educators and researchers to share their work and reflect collaboratively on the development of their global knowledge community.  The theme of the 24th General Conference is Education for Empowerment. Workshops at the Conference are intended to interrogate key themes and methodologies which will inform the IFWEA programme for 2024 – 2028 and explore the collaborative development of educational resources.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

In the workshops at this 24th General Conference, delegates will discuss their purpose as worker education institutions providing education which empowers worker associations towards advancing democratic rights and freedoms, greater social justice and equality.

In the formal sessions, we will review our work over the past four years and define our strategic programme for 2024 – 2028. The strategy we adopt will address our organizational growth; the development of strategic partnerships and resources, and the continued design of educational tools, methods and resources which advance our global knowledge community of practice.
